Please remember to check the school web site for up to date information.  This year we posted the supply list, reading list, and school calendar on the web site.  Students only received a copy of the book report form.

Blessed Sacrament School is celebrating 70 years of providing quality Catholic education to students in Erie, Pennsylvania.  The Advancement Committee is planning a gala event in honor of this milestone.  The gala is set for Saturday, February 13th from 7-10pm at the Bel Aire.  The cost is $25.00 per person which include drinks and food.  More information will be sent in the fall.

NCEA 2009 Convention

Filed under: Uncategorized — Sheri Kurczewski @ 9:15 pm

09convlogo125-frameless1I had the honor of attending the 106th annual convention and exposition of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) in Anaheim, California, April 14-16.  More than 6,000 delegates from all levels of Catholic education – elementary and secondary schools, religious education programs, seminaries, colleges and universities, governing boards and superintendents of schools- were able to select from professional development sessions on topics such as special education, early childhood development, technology, religious education, governance, curriculum, legal issues and public policy.

On the exposition floor, close to 300 booths displayed the latest in uniforms, technology, school furnishings, textbooks, fundraising products and other items.

I had the pleasure of attending the following sessions:

  • Discipline to Discipleship
  • Observation and Supervision of Teachers
  • 21st Century Leadership – The Principal’s Role
  • Creating an Annual Report: Mission & Message
  • A Board’s Responsibility for Just Wages

NCEA is the largest private professional education association in the world. Founded in 1904, the association’s membership represents more than 200,000 educators serving 7.6 million students in Catholic education at all levels.  Blessed Sacrament School is a member of this wonderful organization
